AMNIOTIC BAND SYNDROME (ABS)
Destiny was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome (ABS). Amniotic band syndrome occurs when strands of the amnion (the inner lining of the amniotic sack or "bag of water") peel away from the sack. These strands of fibrous-tissue attach or wrap around parts of the baby's body, restricting blood flow, thus affecting the growth of certain body parts.
MISSION
Our goal is to tell the world that DIFFERENT IS BEAUTIFUL. This starts with awareness and understanding that one’s anomaly does not define who they are. We are all different in some way. Beyond our differences is a gift we bring to the world. Our “different” is what makes us extraordinary. The one thing that remains the same with us all is a desire for acceptance. “Different” doesn’t want to be excluded.
THE INSPIRATION OF A CHILD
Destiny has never let her "different" define her or hold her back! She hopes to encourage and inspire others to embrace their "different" and be the best version of YOU that you can be. At 10 years old, she decided to tell her story through.
